Rooted- A Culture Shift at Shekinah!

I am excited to share something new with you which will be launching in the New Year at Shekinah!

In 10 weeks, we will be making a shift to our culture to bring a greater level of emphasis and importance to discipleship, community, worship, and prayer. Our Monday nights of teaching, prayer and worship has been great in that direction, but we feel it is time to take it a step deeper.
We need to be rooted and grounded in LOVE; love for God and love for one another. In the place of prayer, the Lord revealed a new structure to me that will help us began to cultivate this at Shekinah in a deeper way; this will be called ROOTED.
What is Rooted?: In simple terms this will look like a mid-week service, with our main focus being discipleship, worship and prayer.
What will Rooted look like?: Rooted will be a once a week gathering for us to come together corporately for discipleship, worship and prayer. First there will be various “rooted groups” that will have different foci. We will break into these groups for a time of discussion, where we can be enriched through open dialog, relationship, and unity. These groups will have different topics. After our rooted groups conclude, we will gather corporately for an hour of worship and prayer.
What will be shifting with Rooted?: Rooted will become our new model for what was Lifegroups and Corporate Prayer. Therefore, lifegroups and corporate prayer will all be on one night working together to strengthen the Body of Shekinah.
When will Rooted launch and take place?:

  • We will shift into this new model in the New Year beginning Wednesday, January 5th!
  • Rooted will be happening every Wednesday night from 6:30-9:00 pm after our launch on January 5th.

Will there be something for our children and youth?: YES!! We are excited to have both a Rooted Kids and Rooted Youth during our small group times available. There will be something for everyone, this is meant to be a time for the whole Body.
We are sure that more questions may arise. We know this will be a culture shift for us but we believe this is a GOD SHIFT! After hearing the word released for this New Year that this is a time for us to focus on the CHURCH/FAMILY, we knew Rooted would be a part of that for us.
I truly believe this is an opportunity to cause our roots to go down deeper than ever before. From a place of groundedness in relationship, unity, worship, and prayer we will bear fruit that remains in our lives, our families, and communities…it will be unstoppable!
Blessings to you all,
Tarrah Deitrick
