Shekinah internship

MISSION

The purpose of Shekinah Internship is to develop young influential Christian leaders who will impact both the secular and Christian world by complete surrender to God and uncompromised Christ like character. Shekinah Internship strives to produce well-rounded individuals who continually build themselves up spiritually, mentally, physically and emotionally, demonstrating excellence in every area of their lives.

VISION

Shekinah Internship is raising a generation of passionate servant leaders who are committed to changing their world for Christ.

PHILOSOPHY

The future of the church hangs on the development of its young leaders. Shekinah Internship represents a group of Christian leaders who are willing to give one year of their life to God believing He will shape and empower them to live lives beyond the ordinary, wherever they are called. SI is not a job, position, or Bible School program. It is a holistic, intensive, discipleship experience. SI encompasses a ‘24/7’ concept of service and discipleship. Interns live together, serve together, grow together and laugh together.

WHO SHOULD COME?

Any young Christian (approx age 18-20s) who desires to prepare themselves\ as a leader for a life of impact by dedicating a year to intense discipleship and service. Those just out of High School, or those taking a year off of university or career . . . Those called to ministry as well as those called to the secular world.

CORE VALUES

Hearts Passionate for God (Matt 22:37)

2 Chronicles 16:9 says God is looking for those whose hearts are fully toward him that He may strongly support them. We believe there are no limits for young people who live passionately for God. Our primary purpose is to know God and follow hard after Him. In word, thought, and deed, we want to live passionately for God.

"My supreme purpose is to please God and to share the light He has given me with others." George Washington

Servanthood (Phil 2:5-7)

In a society dominated by self-centeredness, we believe God is raising up a generation of servant leaders who are eager to change their world the Jesus way – by laying down their lives. They will lay themselves down daily, in order to seize the opportunity to pour into others' lives and serve them without condition or reserve.

Character Formation

Exceptional people do daily what ordinary people do occasionally. At SI, we believe that when we do our part by establishing a foundation of daily disciplines and habits, God does His part by building a life of greatness on that foundation. Without discipline one is left only with good intentions.

"The way of least resistance not only makes crooked rivers, but also crooked men." -- Unknown

"Character cannot be developed in ease and quiet. Only though experiences of trial and suffering can the soul be strengthened, vision cleared, ambition inspired and success achieved." -- Hellen Keller

Passion for the Lost

We believe the Great Commission applies to and should be central to the life of all believers, regardless of their location, vocation or occupation.

Kingdom Worldview

We equally value people of all ethnicities, all nationalities, and all backgrounds. We believe we are first of all citizens of God’s Kingdom and members of His family.

Spirit of Excellence

Jesus was said to have done “all things well”. (Mark 7:37)

We dedicate ourselves to give everything that we have to the task at hand, aiming for the highest quality in all we do.
